Just words declared our freedom long ago, Untouched by time, untenanted by will, Leaning to the winds that eastward blow, Yearning for their independence still. There was no truth in them, not even then, Harbingers of hope long since betrayed, Ever the disguise of gentlemen, Fashion for a yearly masquerade. O judge them harshly, for they are but lies, Unworthy of the dream that gave them birth! Regard not their pretensions, but their ties To those who would be lords upon the earth, Hard souls as ever mouthing freedom's cries.
We will be having a BBQ at my daughter and son-in-laws tomorrow evening. Our three grand daughters and their kids and husbands will also be there and we hope my son Jody can make it too. He's working at the elevator this summer and wheat harvest is in full swing right now so that's kind of up in the air?Sure hope he can.The count right now is 13 of us and there should be a lot of fireworks to keep everyone entertained.Tracy has a pool so I would imagine someone will take a swim.Should be a lot of fun!Posting a picture of the curtain tiebacks I whipped up today.I also made a pan of pull aparts, turned out pretty darn good.Have a great 4th everyone!
These are really a special steel crochet hook and so nice to crochet with.A lot of your steel hooks are shorter, tire your hands easily, and a lot of times will split the thread which is annoying to me.I've started a curtain filet trim and I'm using Baroque size 10 thread by Cebelia, one of my favorites.Im using a size 4 hook and it's a dream to work with. They are expensive but worth the money.I'll post a picture of the trim when I get enough done.If you purchase the set you won't be sorry. They are imported and made in Japan.
The biggest advantage of the Etimo hook is the elastomeric comfort grip. It is revolutionary supremely comfortable functional and durable. It has a soft smooth cushy feel and fits perfectly in my hand. I never wants to be without mine. Plus Etimo hooks are made from durable superior quality steel with a polished finish that does not flake or chip. Even better, the handle's length and depth of the hook itself make stitching easier. The result is a crocheter's dream that allows longer stitching with more accuracy and greater comfort. This set includes 8 Etimo Crochet Hooks (14-0), 2 yarn needles, high quality thread, scissors, 4-1/2 inch plastic ruler and an attractive clutch to keep what is sure to be your most cherished tools safe and organized.

Want to wish all Father's the happiest of Father's Day,to all here and gone!
Considering the blizzard we had,the sun is shining brightly, and we're all still here.I never did believe in that Maya prediction, did you? Our christmas family get together this year will be Sunday at my granddaughters house.Hope everyone is well over this flu going around by then.I think Alicia has Sunday off of work and this day worked out better for her.We drew names this year, but I bought my kids each a gift, plus the two we drew.I always get my kids a little something extra at Christmas.Jack is out of town buying wheels for his truck he bought and he's had a hard time finding these paticular wheels.I'd better get out of here and get some work done myself.Later
Thursday 12-20-2012 We woke up this morning and had a winter wonderland, yay, snow for Christmas. The wind was 45mph most of the night and still gusting.Everyone around our town has the flu really bad.My daughter Tracy, granddaughters Shayna and Kayleen and my grandson Nathan.Yikes, hope I don't come down with it,I don't need it or want it.It's a pretty bad strain of it too.Tracy has had it for four days now and Kayleen was in the hospital with it,and Shayna is still fighting it.Jack had to run an errand this morning and he was all bundled up real snug.Maybe some of this real cold weather will bite that old flu in the behind?I know jack and I sure don't want to be sick for Christmas.Jody and Alicia haven't come down with it yet and sure hoping they don't.Jody teaches school, which isn't out for Christmas vacation till tomorrow and Alicia is a registered nurse,so there's a chance they could always get this stuff too, being around so many people all the time.Keeping my fingers crossed that everyone will be up and going by Christmas??Hope all have a great day and stay well.Hugs
Wednesday 12-19-2012 We are in for some snow this afternoon, anywhere from 3-6 inches and 45mph winds. That snow will be drifting and piling up in the middle of the roads and I hope it doesn't take down our power and cable lines.I wanted some snow for Christmas and it looks as if I'm going to get my wish, but I don't want lines down either. The worst of it is going to be around 6pm and end by 6am.It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have such bad wind with it.That's the part I don't care for.I didn't go to see The Hobbit lastnight with the kids.My arthritis was giving me fits.I was really disappointed.Getting old is for the birds, but we all do.My Mom used to say "Just wait till you get my age" now I know what she meant.Till next post, have a safe and happy day.
Monday 12-17-2012 Hello Friends,Happy Monday!I did have my jamma day Sunday and enjoyed it immensely. This morning the sun is shining,no clouds in sight, yet anyway, and I'm going to start fixing my potato soup for supper before too long.I always add sausage to it,gives a great flavor to the soup and it's one of Jack's very favorites.I think he could eat it everyday nonstop lolThe weather man is saying we might get a winter storm Wednesday with 2-4 inches of snow, dammit,I want some snow for Christmas.Guess I'll believe it when I see it.Tomorrow night we're going to the movies with the kids, make it a family get together, and see "The Hobbit".Heard a lot about the movie and the previews are excellent.Looking forward to seeing it.Leaving you for now with smiles and hugs.
